Documentmanagement
3C Office system supports a file library. You can attach any file either directly to Contacts or use Remarks, or it is possible to associate files with your Communications. Files association is supported both ways. Having provided a short description for a file, you will always be able to find in which context the file is used or find all files including communication templates related to your business. Thus a file can be treated as a document without any obvious description.
Actions

CheckIn
A file is uploaded directly to the database
. The size of the uploaded file must not exceed 4 MB for 3C Office Light version, which is usually enough for most applications. For MySQL database the maximal size is set by the max_allowed_packet parameter. The parameter is located in the .cfg file on the server. As an alternative, you may simply create a link to a file, using the
. button. Then the database stores only the link (the address of the file in the file system) but not the file itself. You can upload files of any format. The original file then stays in the file system and is not changed any way.
Document versioning is not supported. If the same document is uploaded anew, the system creates a new document copy with the same name as the old one, this is why it is recommended to delete all prior versions and mark document versions using other file names.
Edit
To open a document, you should simply double click the
icon or press the Open button. Previously saved file will be temporarily downloaded from the TEMP directory. For viewing files the system uses an associated file editor, for example MS Word for files in the .doc format. If the system comes across an unknown file format, a standard Windows dialog is displayed. In case the program defines that a file has been changed, it offers to save a new version into the database.
CheckOut
To save a file in the necessary folder, use the
icon. The program will open a Windows dialog and you will be able to choose the required directory into which the file will be copied. If you apply this operation to a saved Link, then instead of the file, the program will copy a link into the chosen file directory. Location of the target directory is not saved in the database.
Delete
To delete a file or a link, click the Del or the
button.
