Search engineSearching is one of the most frequently used functions at work. During the system development, a great attention was paid to the speed, convenience and flexibility of this function. Find below a description of three search types and examples of their application to the Workflow operations. Simple search When working with lists of contacts, companies and communications, it is usually necessary to limit the range of objects that interest you. Most important attributes are specified in the Where combobox. Just select the attribute according to which the search will be made, enter the necessary value in the Look for field and click Search.
The list of results will contain only those objects whose attribute value matches desired. Moreover, it is enough to enter only the first three characters of the required value. For example, to find all partners being your clients, set the following search criteria CustomerType = Cu. If you choose to set CustomerType = C, the list of results will include your competitors as well as the Competitor type also matches your criteria. To remove search limitations, set the search condition to Where = Anywhere and click Search again. Advanced Search Sometimes it is necessary to make search according to several attribute values or to list a combination of values for a search. To do this, use the
The list of values for a contact or a company creates a group, inside of which matching of one or all attributes is required. In addition you can create several groups and set the combination principle between them by analogy. For example, to find all partners being your leads or hot leads, set the following search criteria: CustomerType = Lead, CustomerType = Hot Lead and Results must contain -at least one of the criteria. As a result the dialog table will display only those records that match the specified search criteria. To remove the advanced search filter settings, open the dialog box again and clear the specified combinations. Global Search To perform a flexible search according to objects attributes, use the Global Search. The Global Search is called from the Main Menu. The Global Search feature is realized as an Internet search (google, yahoo, lycos, etc.). You need to specify one or several keywords after what you get the list of objects that match your criteria. The list is sorted by the relevance of attributes. Searching is carried out by the following criteria: Search results are represented as grouped objects as a hypertext.
