User Rights Management

If you use 3C Office Pro version of the program, please read this topic attentively! For 3C Office Light version this topic is not relevant.

For team work we recommend to use 3C Office Pro version. The conception of managing users is clear and allows you to manage access to the database without referring to a database specialist! In 3C Corporate this can be done by any user who has Administrator rights.

Note: This saves your expenses!

Installation and Initialization of the Database

3C Office Pro suite does not contain database. That is why you will have to download it on the official www.mysql.com web site. Basic users should have a remote access to the database.

Creating Basic User of the Database

Basic user of the MySQL database are created on the server by the following commands from the mysql-client program:

1. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO ' YOUR USER'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'YOUR PASS' WITH GRANT OPTION
   
2. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO ' YOUR USER'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'YOUR PASS' WITH GRANT OPTION

After the database and the basic user was successfully installed, you should start the installation program on your local computer. Installation of the database structure on your server will be executed right from 3C Office Pro. Here we use a remote access through the user that was created from the mysql client-program.

Creating a New User of 3C Office Light

In the Directory/Administration/Users editor add a new row. In the settings column you can specify the layout for the current user.

User Rights

Currently the program pre-supposes two variants: Administrator and User. Administrator has full access to the main menu. User can access only Contacts, Communications and Tools.
